Today, this promise will be truly fulfilled in our lives. Surely, the Lord will go before us. We may encounter crooked circumstances and perverse people. However, if we follow the Lord, He will straighten them (and them). Many obstacles, like bronze gates and iron bars, may come against us, threatening to halt our spiritual progress. But the Lord Himself will shatter such bronze gates into pieces and break the iron bars.
'Treasures in Darkness' - There may be certain dark patches here and there on our path. But the Lord promises today that He Himself will give us many precious souls in that darkness as special treasures.
'Hidden Riches of Secret Places' - Here, 'secret place' refers to our abiding in the 'shadow of the Almighty,' which signifies the secret chamber of a prayer life (Psalm 91:1; Matthew 6:6). Hidden treasures are reserved for those who possess a deep life of prayer.
Like the people of Israel, we are on a wilderness journey. But the Lord Himself promises to go before us. "My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest" (Exodus 33:14). His Presence goes before us to give us rest. It will go with us until we reach our eternal rest.
The Lord did not say, 'My Presence will stay with you,' but rather, 'My Presence will go with you.' There is an impetus that encourages us to move forward toward the Divine Presence. It will make us advance. it will make us earnest Christians who press onward. There is a power that stirs and awakens us to move forward for the Gospel as well.
'Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations... and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age' (Matthew 28:19, 20). "The Lord will fight for you... go forward" (Exodus 14:14, 15). On this day, the Lord Himself desires to conduct all our battles. But there is one condition: we must keep moving forward.
We know that our future is going to be blessed because the Lord holds it in His hands. He has surely laid out great plans for us. We may not know the path we have to cross this day, but we know who is going before us. This knowledge makes all the difference.
"The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail" (Isaiah 58:11).
Because Jesus goes before us, we shall not fear; He will lead us to the very end.

முன் செல்லும் தேவன்.
"நான் உனக்கு முன்னே போய், கோணலானவைகளைச் செவ்வையாக்குவேன்... வெண்கலக் கதவுகளை உடைத்து, இருப்புத் தாழ்ப்பாள்களை முறித்து, அந்தகாரத்தில் இருக்கிற பொக்கிஷங்களையும், ஒளிப்பிடத்தில் இருக்கிற புதையல்களையும் உனக்குக் கொடுப்பேன்" — ஏசாயா (45: 2, 3)
இன்று இவ்வாக்குத்தத்தம் நம்மிடத்தில் உண்மையாய் நிறைவேறும். நிச்சயமாகவே கர்த்தர் நமக்கு முன்னே போவார். கோணலான சூழ்நிலைகளையும் மாறுபாடான ஜனங்களையும் நாம் சந்திக்கக் கூடும். ஆகிலும் நாம் கர்த்தருக்குப் பின்செல்வோமாயின் அவர் அவற்றை (அவர்களை) செவ்வையாக்குவார். நம்முடைய ஆவிக்குரிய முன்னேற்றத்தைத் தடுத்துநிறுத்துவதாக நம்மை அச்சுறுத்தக்கூடிய வெண்கலக் கதவுகள், இருப்புத் தாழ்ப்பாள்கள் போன்ற அநேக தடைகள் நமக்கு எதிரிட்டு வரக் கூடும். ஆனால் கர்த்தர் தாமே அப்படிப்பட்ட வெண்கலக் கதவுகளைச் சின்னபின்னமாக உடைத்து, இருப்புத்தாழ்ப்பாள்களை முறித்துப்போடுவார்.
'அந்தகாரத்தில் இருக்கிற பொக்கிஷங்கள்' - நம் பாதையில் ஆங்காங்கே சிற்சில அந்தகாரமான பகுதிகள் இருக்கக் கூடும். ஆனால் கர்த்தர் தாமே அந்தகாரத்தில் இருக்கிற அநேக விலையேறப்பெற்ற ஆத்துமாக்களை விசேஷித்த பொக்கிஷங்களாக நமக்குத் தருவதாக இன்று வாக்குப்பண்ணுகிறார்.
'ஒளிப்பிடத்தில் இருக்கிற புதையல்கள்' - இங்கு 'ஒளிப்பிடம்' என்பது 'உன்னதமானவரின் மறைவில்' நாம் தங்கியிருப்பதை அதாவது ஜெப ஜீவியமாகிய இரகசிய அறையைக் காண்பிக்கிறது (சங். 91: 1; மத். 6:6). ஓர் ஆழமான ஜெபஜீவியம் உள்ளவர்களுக்கென புதையல்கள் மறைத்து வைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.
இஸ்ரவேல் ஜனங்களைப் போல நாம் ஒரு வனாந்தரப் பிரயாணம் செய்துகொண்டிருக்கிறோம். ஆனால் கர்த்தர் தாமே நமக்கு முன்னே போவதாக வாக்குப்பண்ணுகிறார். "என் சமுகம் உனக்கு முன்பாகச் செல்லும், நான் உனக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் தருவேன்" (யாத். 33:14). நமக்கு இளைப்பாறுதல் தருவதற்காக அவருடைய சமுகமானது நம் முன் செல்லுகிறது. நாம் நம்முடைய நித்திய இளைப்பாறுதலை அடையும் வரை அது நம்முடனேகூடச் செல்லும்.
கர்த்தர் 'என் சமுகம் உன்னுடன் தங்கியிருக்கும்' என்று அல்ல, 'என் சமுகம் உன்னுடனே கூடச் செல்லும்' என்றே கூறியிருக்கிறார். தேவ சமுகத்திற்கு முன்னோக்கிச் செல்லும்படி நம்மை ஊக்குவிக்கும் ஓர் உந்துவிசை உண்டு. அது நம்மை முன்னேறிச் செல்லப்பண்ணும். அது நம்மை முன்னோக்கிச் செல்லக்கூடிய தீவிரமான ஒரு கிறிஸ்தவனாக்கும். சுவிசேஷத்திற்கும் முன்னோக்கிச் செல்லும்படி நம்மை ஏவி எழுப்பும் ஒரு வல்லமை இருக்கிறது.
'ஆகையால், நீங்கள் புறப்பட்டுப் போய், சகல ஜாதிகளையும் சீஷராக்குங்கள். இதோ, சகல நாட்களிலும் நான் உங்களுடனேகூட இருக்கிறேன்' (மத். 28:19, 20). "கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்காக யுத்தம்பண்ணுவார்;... புறப்பட்டுப் போங்கள்" (யாத். 14: 14, 15). இந்த நாளில் நம் யுத்தங்கள் யாவற்றையும் கர்த்தர் தாமே நடப்பிக்கும்படி விரும்புகிறார். ஆனால் அதற்கு ஒரு நிபந்தனை உண்டு. அது, நாம் முன்னேறிச் சென்றுகொண்டேயிருக்க வேண்டும் என்பதே.
நம் வருங்காலத்தைக் கர்த்தர் தம் கரங்களில் வைத்திருப்பதால் அது ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்டதாயிருக்கப்போகிறது என்பதை நாம் அறிவோம். அவர் நிச்சயமாகவே நம்மைக் குறித்துப் பெரிய திட்டங்களை வகுத்திருக்கிறார். இந்த நாளில் நாம் கடந்துசெல்ல வேண்டிய பாதையை நாம் அறியாதவர்களாயிருக்கலாம். ஆனால் நமக்கு முன் செல்வது யார் என்பதை நாம் அறிவோம். இந்த அறிவே அனைத்து மாற்றங்களையும் உண்டுபண்ணுகிறது.
"கர்த்தர் நித்தமும் உன்னை நடத்தி, மகா வறட்சியான காலங்களில் உன் ஆத்துமாவைத் திருப்தியாக்கி, உன் எலும்புகளை நிணமுள்ளதாக்குவார்; நீ நீர்ப்பாய்ச்சலான தோட்டத்தைப் போலவும், வற்றாத நீரூற்றைப்போலவும் இருப்பாய்" (ஏசாயா 58:11).
இயேசு நம் முன்னே செல்வதால் அஞ்சிடோம்; முற்றுமுடிய நம்மை நடத்துவார்.
